Top Resume Mistakes

What to evade in resume building:

  1. Grammatical errors.
  2. Lack of information, such as e-mail and phone number.
  3. Where are the dates?
    • Employment dates.
    • Education attendance dates/graduation dates.
    • Volunteer/honor dates.
  4. Further explanation:
    • Employers like to see a few bullets on explanation of tasks or achievements to justify the relevance of the position held to the position they are attempting to fill.
  5. Leave some explanation for the interview:
    • Employers need a feel for your experiences; however, giving over five bullets of information may leave you with nothing to discuss in the interview.
    • Keep your resume to experiences and accomplishments that connect to what the employer is searching for; personal interests and hobbies are never to be included.
