Additional Job Search Resources

Searching online is an excellent way to find job opportunities. However, there are a few additional outlets to be aware of:

Bulletin Boards

Check out the bulletin boards around campus. Offices that need to fill multiple positions will often advertise around campus.

Networking

Get to know your professors and classmates and let them know you are looking for a job. Sometimes, they may know of a position opening up and can share the information with you.

Referrals

Much like networking, if you know of someone already working in an office of interest, inquire with them about other job opportunities in their office or organization. If they know of something, they can mention your name to whomever is responsible for filling the position. Many jobs, on campus and off, are filled through referral networks.

Electronic Mailing Lists

IUPUI offers many electronic mailing lists, from JagNews to departmental distribution lists; signing up for these mass e-mails will keep you in the loop about on-campus events, opportunities, and job openings.

What is JagJobs?

JagJobs.org is the IUPUI online job search database. To get started, you must first create a JagJobs account. View the JagJobs tutorial for step-by-step instructions on setting up a JagJobs account and navigating through the JagJobs site.
