What is mock interviewing?
Mock interviewing is an opportunity to practice interview questions and responses before attending an actual interview. There are many potential questions you may be asked in an interview, as outlined in the Types of Interview Questions section. After the mock interview is over, the interviewer gives feedback, such as thinking of examples to use in the interview, assisting with good posture, using eye contact, and removing filler words (e.g., “um” and “like").
How can I participate in a mock interview?
The Office of Student Employment offers opportunities to prep for your interview. This is the first step in preparing for an actual mock interview. Once you have prepped for an interview, you will be offered a chance to practice your questions and to receive feedback from an employment consultant.
We are proud to be offering an online mock interview option called InterviewStream. You will be able to practice and record your answers to specific interview questions, such as “tell me about yourself,” and then critique your responses. You will also have the opportunity to send your practice interview to a consultant for review and feedback.
