The next National Student Employment Appreciation (NSEA) week is scheduled for April 14–18, 2014.
Check out the events that we held last year to honor our student employees and employers.
NSEA Week 2013
April 8–12, 2013.
Every year IUPUI celebrates National Student Employment Appreciation Week by engaging students and employers in a variety of activities to promote student employment experiences and developments. We recognize our Student Employee of the Year and Student Supervisor of the Year as part of a lovely ceremony and luncheon and spend the rest of the week treating our student employees to fun games, fashion shows, food, and prizes. Students are encouraged to participate in the activities even if they do not work on campus. Our annual Carnival event will have employers looking to hire students who are not currently employed. So, there is truly something for everyone! Nominate your student, volunteer to participate, sponsor, or learn more about Student Employment Appreciation Week.
Week of Events Include:
Monday, April 8
10 a.m.–1 p.m.—Student Employment Informational Table and "What Not to Wear" Fashion Show in Campus Center.
The student employment informational table helps students learn about services of the Office of Student Employment and the events included in NSEA Week. The “What Not to Wear” Fashion Show teaches students how to choose professional attire for each phase of their workweek and career and how to avoid the pitfalls of inappropriate attire.
Tuesday, April 9
All Day—IUPUI Departmental Student Employee Appreciation
IUPUI departments are encouraged to show their appreciation for their student employees and supervisors in their own way today. Some suggestions for acts of appreciation include writing a thank-you note for each student employee, giving your staff a small inexpensive gift that shows you appreciate them, telling your supervisor how much you appreciate him or her, or hosting an appreciation potluck for student employees and student supervisors.
12:00–1:30 p.m.—Student Employee and Supervisor of the Year Awards Luncheon (by invitation only).
At the beginning of the spring 2013 semester, outstanding student employees will be nominated by their supervisors (and supervisors by their student employees) for the Student Employee of the Year and Supervisor of the Year Awards. On April 9, all award nominees will be honored at a luncheon where this year’s winners will be announced and celebrated. The nomination process is currently open through February 15.
